This section explains how Corolus can help you with with your networking requirements.  Running a network in your office is not simply a matter of buying a couple of network switches and patch cables from your local computer or electronics store.  Yes, you will be able to hook your machines together and get them talking to each other, but the requirements of the average office is much greater than that.  Whilst such a set up is fine for light home use, a properly specified and installed network infrastructure is key to reliability and performance of your business network.

 

Business networks these days have to be flexible enough to handle more than just data.  The same cabling infrastructure is used to manage data, telephone, VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) and streaming media such as applications like Skype or MSN Messenger for video conferencing.  Corolus have been implementing and supporting these types of network for many years.

 

Network Design and Installation

A properly designed network will allow you years of trouble free service and allow expansion without having to replace existing cabling.  If you are moving premises or expanding your existing office space call us before commencing work.  Often we can coordinate with your electricians to install data cabling at the same time or have the electricians run the cable, leaving us to terminate the runs, thus saving you time and money.  However, unless your electrician specialises in data cabling it is always best to get advice on where and how to run the cables.  Improper runs or bad termination of the cables will result in sub-standard data and phone quality and can often be costly to diagnose and repair.  Likewise, we have seen many installations where there were simply not enough cables run to the correct areas leaving unsightly patch leads stretched around the office or bodged get-around's.

Besides the technical requirements for today's networking, there is also a need for secured and aesthetically pleasing installations.  This is particularly important in offices and environments that your customers will see.  Unsightly patch leads, messy trunking, or in some cases cabling just strewn around the outside of the office all make for the wrong impression.  Even in situations where the look of the cabling isn't important there is still the issue that can arise from cables being snagged or cut.

 

All our cable installations are securely run through ceiling or floor voids, in dado trunking or in firmly attached mini trunking.  Cables are terminated in proper wall boxes allowing tidy patch leads to connect computers and phones etc.  We also cater for harsh environments that require shielded cable or outdoor runs including wire spans.

 

All the cabling is then terminated in a data or server cabinet, as appropriate, to allow easy management of your cabling infrastructure.  Termination points are clearly labelled and mapped allowing rapid reconfiguration as your requirements grow and change.
