Hardware and Software
This section explains the benefits of using Corolus as your provider
of Hardware and Software. In today's market there is such a
wide variety of options that choosing the correct item to buy can
have you reaching for the Paracetamol!
Many of today's hardware manufacturers send direct mail shots to
businesses touting their amazing £299 servers or 'Massive Spec'
laptops free with every box of cereal! Whilst some of these
seemingly too good to be true offers are indeed genuinely good
deals, the majority of them are just not suited to a business
environment. Corolus can help ensure that you get the right
deal to meet your requirements and keep you operating smoothly and
happily for years to come.
We can specify and provide hardware and software to fulfil your
requirements and ensure your staff are working in the most
productive manner possible.

The Corolus Approach
We take the hassle out of specifying and buying new hardware and software and upgrades
to existing products.
We can provide, install and train you on all manner of hardware and software and we
are not tied in with any suppliers so we don't push just one
product. After discussing your requirements with you and any
preferences you may have we will provide you with a solution tailored to suit.
This will then be delivered, configured and tested by one of our engineers to ensure
that you are up and running straight away. If it's a replacement PC or software
package you require then data and settings will be transferred from the old system to the new
and our engineer will ensure that the user(s) check it over before they leave site.
By working closely
with you, we can ensure that you maximise the benefit from your IT
purchasing. Whether you need very large amounts of storage or a powerful machine
for database work, we will make sure that the hardware and software is the right
choice for you and your budget.
The Benefits
Compare the two scenarios in buying a seemingly simple printer for the whole office to use. Firstly, the Do-It-Yourself method. You or another member of
staff spend what can easily be several hours browsing through various web sites
trying to determine which printer you need. Let's assume you know you need
a network enabled printer, and you end up buying one of the correct specification.
When the unit turns up you will have to spend another couple of hours unboxing it,
setting it up on a desk, hooking up a network cable, configuring the TCP/IP parameters
or creating the appropriate entry in the DHCP server. Then you would have
to configure the print queue on your server so that everyone can easily print to
it. Don't forget if you have different versions of Windows on your network
you will need to install several versions of the driver.
Now consider if you had used Corolus. A quick chat to determine your requirements
with one of our engineers will take about 15 minutes of your time at most.
The printer will be ordered and then we will arrange a convenient time to turn
up and install it. Beforehand we will have checked to make sure that network
and power sockets are available. Our engineer will then setup, configure and
test the printer. This will then be configured on the users machines and the
appropriate people will be shown how to change the toner or cartridges and clear
paper jams etc. We can even take the packaging away.
Which way would you prefer?
Software Licensing
Is all your software fully licensed?
Most businesses are running one or more illegal
pieces of software. Whether by installing the same copy of
Microsoft Office on multiple machines or a member of staff
installing a pirated piece of software they've brought in from home.
Despite the obvious legal issues, there is a serious security issue with running
non-licensed software. A lot of pirated software actually contains viruses or
other malicious software which can be a serious security hole in
your network. In addition, most illegal copies of software are
not able to be patched properly,
meaning that you have software running on
your systems with known and exploitable security flaws in them.
Talk to us today about a license audit and let us inventory and deal
with any illegal software on your network.
